Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Time to say goodbye to the last day of the month, bye January! Hello February!

But today isn't just the last day of the month, it's also the Chinese New Year. Xin nian kuai le! ^_^

Last night, on my way home, I saw a lot of people (specifically around BIR going to TESDA then to IT Park. OMAI) outside their offices, homes, etc. And then I was like-- Hello? What's happening here?? And then the fireworks started. Ohw! So, now I know why. It's one of the activities that a hotel is hosting for the Chinese New Year. And then I was like one of those people staring up at the sky, watching fireworks. :)

Chinese New Year has been a special non-working holiday here in the Philippines. In this way, our Filipino-Chinese fellowmen can celebrate the new year but this holiday has gained wider exposure to Filipinos, hence even if you're not Chinese, if you come here in the Philippines, you can see a lot of Pinoys celebrating with their fellow Filipino-Chinese countrymen.

I still remember the times, way back when I was still in high school, we always celebrate Chinese New Year. We prepare some food that our classmates and our teachers share. Sometimes our laoshi gives us some good luck goodies and some close friends especially the parents, also gives us ang bao (red envelope with money inside). *now I'm reminiscing the times. haha*

(Now, I'm craving for some masi and tikoy. haha)

Once again, XIN NIAN KUAI LE
